1/24 Tachikomans Blue by WAVE
This one actually belongs to Katherine, a gift to her during the Winter holiday. So beloved and excellent a little think tank, however, could not be passed by in setting up the figure galleries.

Not sure why WAVE named this set "Tachikomans" (perhaps a corruption from "AI Sentai Tachikomanzu?"), but regardless the figure is excellent. Well-painted and highly articulated with numerous accommodating ball joints, this Tachikoma has a wonderful, lively resemblance to the animated appearance.

A surly (and rather plump) Batou accompanies this blue version. (The yellow construction worker version comes with Togusa, while the grey version has Aramaki. I believe there was another blue version – the original paint job, rather than the retirement center version – which came with the Major, but I've never seen it.) Also included are a monkey wrench and what I'm guessing is the artillery shell the rogue Tachikoma acquire from the homeless veteran near the end of 1st gig.

Front view. Tachikoma is excited to be photographed.

Side view. The eyes swivel around a bit, though I didn't change their position at all during this shoot.

Rear view. The pod, while it doesn't open, is well-supported by another ball joint, and has quite a range of motion.

Tachikoma springs into action.

Aiming for a running shot. While they spin, Tachikoma's manipulators are unfortunately otherwise unarticulated.

Tachikoma is embarrassed because of what I said about its hands.

Pondering the enso.
